Fiskars 18-Inch Staysharp Max Push Reel Lawn Mower

Fiskars 6201 18-Inch Staysharp Max Push Reel Lawn Mower

I purchased the Fiskars staysharp max push reel lawn mower May 1, 2013 and have been using almost weekly (except in the winter) to cut my lawn for the last year.  Let me just say that I tried to convince my wife to get rid of all our lawn, but we have one flat area that is 100 feet by 20 feet flat land that we cut weekly for the kids to play in.  Otherwise I would mulch it and put in more raised beds.

We have found the lawn mower to be excellent for a lawn of this size as long as you don't let your lawn go.  If you can make the time to cut the grass weekly or bi-weekly then you won't be disappointed, but if you let the lawn go then you are really going to have to work hard to cut it.

Pros:

- Stays sharp
- Easy to adjust the length you want to cut the grass
- Mulches the lawn with the grass clippings
- You don't smell of grass after you are done
- It's excellent for the environment
- Don't have to worry about running out of gas
- No need to go to the gas station to fill-up the gas can

Cons:

- Fairly easy to push but takes a bit more strength than most mowers
- Sometimes will leave longer blades of grass uncut
- Make sure all sticks are out of the way or they will get caught in the mower
- Not for larger lawns or lawns with many inclines

Should you purchase the mower?

At $177 you won't be disappointed if you have a small lawn, otherwise it's hard to recommend the purchase unless you want a good workout weekly.  I would absolutely purchase this mower again for the size of my lawn.

One thing to note: when you screw on the handle be sure to really screw it in tight as the bolts can come loose if you don't.
